France-based UK pilot Rupert Hone received his Peak 4 this year and did not hesitate to start living adventures with his new companion. Now he has completed an SIV course with the glider, and his views on the course and the Peak 4 soon arrived: “Overall the wing is very highly pressurized! This saved me from getting wet several times on first day when my glider control and harness positions got me into trouble. Having such a high internal pressure meant side collapsed came out quickly and most importantly the center of the wing kept flying. It also meant that despite my best efforts I was unable to collapse a side of the glider, pulling on just the A riser. Yes of course there is great energy but providing you brake at the right point and are prepared to brake in deep inputs and release quickly, the Peak 4 is predictable and controllable. I am new to 2 liners so wanted to also appreciate what control on the B risers was like. So in addition to lots and lots of 360s with rapid exits and damping dive on brakes, I also practiced damping symmetrically on the Bs, which worked very well. Short and very effective as you are activating a large part of the rear of the glider”.

Luc selbst sagt dazu:

Super gemacht, Jungs!

OZONE GEO 5 “Nice Video”
OZONE GEO 5
The pinnacle of the GEO series! With pioneering OZONE SharkNose technology and all of the design features that have boosted performance in our intermediate class wings, the Geo 5 is a few grams more than its predecessor but now features performance that is in line with the rest of our XC range.
- Patented OZONE SharkNose Technology
- 0.5 increase in L/D throughout the speed range compared to the G4
- Increased cells and double 3D Shaping for a cleaner top surface
- New Arc for better handling, stability, and sail cohesion.
- Ball-bearing pulleys for smooth acceleration
THE GEO LEGACY
The original Geo created a new class of paraglider – an accessible yet versatile wing for a wide range of pilots. As the series has progressed, the weight and pack volume has improved through improvement in light materials but also through the optimization of hundreds of construction details throughout the wing. But, most importantly, the real progress in the Geo series has been in the category of performance – and the Geo 5 is the pinnacle of the series. The Geo 5 is based on the Buzz Z5.
PERFORMANCE
The Geo 5 features the same performance enhancing design features that have pushed our latest XC and Competition level wings to the top of their class. Most notably, the Geo 5 features the patented OZONE SharkNose profile and leading edge. The OZONE SharkNose has proven to be one of the most significant technological breakthroughs in our sport. It improves performance, solidity and handling characteristics at all angles of attack and airspeeds.
Aerodynamically, the Geo 5 profile and sail are very clean. It has been designed with the latest generation software to generate cells that are better aligned to the airflow, reducing profile drag and wing tip vortices. The sail has been further optimised with double 3D shaping for a cleaner leading edge and three extra cells for a better top surface – and a new internal structure and optimised line layout has allowed these three extra cells to be added without additional lines or increased wing weight.
The Geo 5’s aspect ratio remains the same. Increasing aspect ratio is a simple method of increasing performance, but leads to significant compromises in passive safety. Therefore, we do not believe in pushing this important design consideration. Instead, we have focused on reducing sail drag, optimising the line layout, reducing the overall line drag, and creating newly-shaped SharkNose cell openings to push performance to the top of the category without compromising safety. The performance enhancing features of the Geo 5 can be considered “free upgrades”, as they increase glide and speed without reducing passive safety.
The Geo 5 is designed to fly distances, and ball bearing pulleys in the accelerator system operate in a smooth and light manner for comfort on long XC flights. The top speed performance has been significantly improved by 0.5 LD at the same speed over the Geo 4.
PILOT
The Geo series is designed for pilots who seek a highly versatile lightweight wing. It is suitable for a wide range of pilots from talented beginners to the most experienced. The minimum recommendation is 30-50 hours per year. More experienced pilots will appreciate the relaxing nature of the Geo 5 in active air, and the ease of launch – a real asset in the mountains.
NEW OZONE ENZO 3 is available :-)
he Enzo 3 retains many features of its predecessor, including the cell count, planform, and patented OZONE SharkNose concept but with an updated ultra-low-drag line plan. Most of all, our philosophy of True Performance remains a core tenet of this wing. Its performance in active air impressed the OZONE R&D Team during development; throughout the process of testing in the Southern Alps, and auditing competitions, the Enzo 3 has proven to be a significant step forward from the Enzo 2.
